Channel Fit

Which voter outreach channel fits each job?

Every contact channel is good at some jobs and poor at others. The fastest way to waste a campaign budget is to force one channel into a job it was never built for. So we start by matching each job to the right tool.

Email carries depth. It is where your candidate can explain a position, share a video, thank a donor or ask for a contribution before a reporting deadline. Our political email marketing team plans and writes those messages.

Peer-to-peer text carries urgency. A short, personal text is the right tool for a reminder that early voting opens tomorrow, a question about a yard sign, or a real back-and-forth with a voter who writes back.

Robocalls still earn a place in older, landline-heavy precincts and for quick notices, such as a changed polling location. A familiar local voice can deliver an endorsement in a few seconds.

Voter data sits underneath all three. Every list you email, text or call starts with a clean universe pulled from the voter file, with contact details appended where records can be matched.

Quick channel guide

Our Services

What voter outreach services does Vertical Web provide?

Each service below has its own page with the details. They run as one program, so your email calendar, text schedule and call scripts all point at the same goal on the same dates.

Start with voter data and email append if you need a list. Use bulk email for political campaigns when you need to mail a large voter-file list without landing in spam. Our political text messaging service covers peer-to-peer and MMS, and political robocalls cover voice broadcasts, IVR polls and voicemail drops.

Political Email Marketing

We plan a campaign email calendar and write every message in your candidate's voice. Launch notes, issue explainers, fundraising asks and thank-you emails each get a place on it.

Bulk Email for Political Campaigns

We set up authenticated sending on a campaign subdomain, clean the list and pace the volume. The goal is simple: your message reaches the inbox, not the spam folder.

Political Text Messaging

Our team sends texts one at a time from your approved script and answers the replies. MMS adds a candidate photo, a short video or a map to the polling place.

Voter Data and Email Append

We build your universe from the Texas voter file, then append email addresses and phone numbers where records can be matched. That list feeds every other channel.

Political Robocalls

Recorded messages, IVR surveys and voicemail drops reach voters who still answer a landline. Every script includes the caller identification the FCC requires.

Email and SMS Compliance for Campaigns

We handle 10DLC registration, Campaign Verify paperwork, disclosure language and opt-out records. Your treasurer or counsel gets a clear record to review.

Republican Voter Outreach

Reach Republican primary voters, runoff voters and your November base.

Democrat Voter Outreach

Reach Democratic primary voters, new registrants and irregular voters.

Political 10DLC Compliance Guide

A plain-English guide to carrier registration for Texas campaigns.

Campaign Verify and 10DLC Registration Help

We handle the Campaign Verify token and 10DLC paperwork.

Timing

When should a campaign start voter outreach before Election Day?

Outreach works best as a calendar, not a scramble. We build the plan backward from Election Day, so each channel has a clear job in each phase of the race.

Before early voting

This is the season for introductions, endorsements and list building. Email carries the longer story, and texts invite supporters to events and volunteer shifts. It is also the time to finish carrier registration, because texting cannot start until your numbers are approved. Our political 10DLC compliance guide explains the rules in plain English, and we can file it for you through our Campaign Verify registration service.

During early voting

Early voting is when reminders matter most. We sequence texts, emails and calls so a voter hears from you through the channel they prefer, without getting all three on the same afternoon. Where participation records are available, we pull voters who have already cast a ballot out of later reminders.

Election Day and after

Election Day messages are short: where to vote, when polls close, and a thank-you. After the polls close, the same list helps you thank supporters and close out volunteers. Texas holds a runoff when no candidate wins a majority in a primary, so we plan for that possibility from the start.

One opt-out list across every channel

When a voter replies STOP to a text, asks not to be called, or unsubscribes from email, that request goes onto one shared suppression list. Every channel checks it before a send, so nobody who opted out gets surprised by your campaign somewhere else. Our email and SMS compliance page covers how we keep those records.

Why Vertical Web

Why campaigns trust Vertical Web with voter contact

Voter outreach puts your name in front of people every time a message goes out. You want the team sending it to know the rules, own the outcome and give you a straight answer about what will work.

Taught, Not Just Practiced

Beth Guide has taught SEO since 2003 and teaches digital marketing for the SBA and HCC, Lone Star College and the University of Houston SBDC. Fox 26 brings her on to explain technology to Houston viewers. Put simply, your outreach gets planned by the people other marketers learn from.

One Team Sends Everything

Your email, texts, calls, voter data and campaign website sit with one in-house team. When a reply needs an answer or a link breaks, nobody passes the blame to a different vendor.

In Business Since 1998

Clients have trusted Vertical Web since 1998, and the very first one is still on our roster. Along the way we became a Certified Google Partner, earned a 4.9 Google rating and won First Place triple honors in Best of West Houston 2025.

Straight Talk on Spend

We manage more than $1M in annual PPC, so we know what a real contact costs. When a channel is wrong for your district, you will hear that from us before any money moves.

Our Process

How does Vertical Web plan a voter outreach program?

Every program follows the same five steps. The order matters, because each step depends on the one before it. You stay in the loop and approve every message before it goes out.

1. Define the universe

We decide who your campaign needs to reach: likely voters, primary voters, new registrants, or a set of precincts. That universe becomes the master list for every channel.

2. Choose the channel mix and calendar

We match each audience and message to email, text or calls, then place the sends on a calendar built around early voting and Election Day. Budget choices happen here, with you at the table.

3. Write the creative and the disclosures

We draft emails, texts and call scripts in your candidate’s voice, in English and Spanish where it helps. Required disclosure language goes in at this stage, and your treasurer or counsel signs off.

4. Send and measure

We send on schedule and track the actions that matter: replies, clicks, donations, volunteer sign-ups and opt-outs. You see what happened, not a pile of vanity numbers.

5. Adjust for the next round

Results from one send shape the next. If a message falls flat or a channel lags, we change course while there is still time for it to count.

Both Sides of the Ballot

Do you run voter outreach for Republican and Democratic campaigns?

Yes. Vertical Web is a nonpartisan business, and we work for candidates of both parties. We do not take policy positions, and your lists, messaging and results are never shared with another campaign.

Party primaries in Texas

Texas voters do not register by party. They affiliate by voting in a party’s primary, which is why party lists here come from primary voting history. We explain how that shapes targeting on our Republican voter outreach and Democratic voter outreach pages.

Local, county, state and federal races

We work with candidates and committees in Houston, Harris County, Montgomery County and Fort Bend County, and across Texas. Statewide and national campaigns and PACs can use the same program. The size of the race changes the list, not the discipline behind it.

Spanish-language outreach

Spanish versions of emails, text scripts and call recordings are available. We give them the same care as the English versions, so the message reads naturally instead of sounding like a translation.

Your campaign website comes first

Carriers review your website when you register for texting, and voters check it before they give or volunteer. Because Vertical Web is a Houston web design firm, we can fix a weak campaign site in the same project instead of sending you to another vendor.

Straight answers

Voter Outreach Services: Frequently Asked Questions

A full program can include voter data with email and phone append, campaign email strategy and writing, bulk email sending, peer-to-peer and MMS texting, robocalls and voicemail drops, and compliance support such as 10DLC registration and disclosure language. Most campaigns do not need every piece. We look at your race, your list and your calendar, then recommend the smallest mix that covers the jobs you actually have.

For many local races, the first step is a clean list and a solid campaign website. From there, email to your own supporters is a low-cost way to build momentum, and peer-to-peer texting handles reminders close to Election Day. Robocalls make sense if your district has many landline voters. We will tell you honestly which channels fit your race and which ones to skip.

Yes. We can clean and use a list you already have, whether it came from the voter file, a party, a past campaign or your own sign-up forms. We check where the contacts came from, remove bad records and anyone who opted out, and note whether each contact gave consent for automated messages. If the list is thin, we can build a fresh universe from the voter file.

Every opt-out goes onto one shared suppression list that email, text and call programs all check before a send. That includes STOP replies, unsubscribe clicks and spoken requests not to be called. People can opt out in any reasonable way, and the campaign must honor it. Keeping one list across channels is how we avoid surprising someone who already asked you to stop.

Yes, when it follows the rules. Under FCC rules, hand-sent person-to-person texts do not need prior consent. Autodialed texts and prerecorded calls to mobile phones do require prior express consent. Prerecorded calls to landlines are allowed without consent, limited to three in any 30-day period. Carriers also require 10DLC registration for texting. This is not legal advice, so your treasurer or counsel should confirm what applies to your committee.

Yes. Spanish-language versions of emails, text scripts and call recordings are available for any program. We plan them alongside the English versions so the timing, the ask and the disclosures match. Where a district includes many Spanish-speaking households, we can build separate segments so each voter hears from you in the language they prefer.

Your quote comes down to four things: the size of the audience, the mix of channels, the number of sends, and whether contact data must be appended. A single reminder text to one precinct is a very different project from a full program through early voting. We do not publish prices for that reason. Schedule a Consultation, tell us about the race, and we will put a clear number in writing.

No. Your lists, messaging and results belong to your campaign and are never shared with another campaign. Vertical Web works with candidates on both sides of the ballot, and keeping each client’s work separate is basic to how we operate. When the race ends, we can hand your data back in a format your team can keep using.

Let's plan your voter contact

Tell us about your race, your district and your calendar. We will map the channels, the timing and the list you need, then run the whole program with one accountable team. Schedule a Consultation to get started.
