When you upload your website and your still have a place holder or a server default page, you need to start looking at your home page. Did you name it index.htm or index.html. Is it lower case. Normally if your using wordpress you won’t have this issue but often the dreamweaver folks run into this issue.
Simply rename your home page one of the above file names and that should address the issues.
The server is case sensitive so if you have broke images, its usually a naming error as well.
